Surface Preparation
Dirt build up, moss and loose material should be removed by scraping or brushing with a stiff bristled brush. Any cracks and gaps should be raked out to remove dirt build up. Large expanses of standing water should be removed by sweeping, small quantities of water may be allowed to remain without affecting the performance of the ALLCOAT Leak Repair. In cold conditions any ice present on the surface must be removed.Any oil or grease contamination should be removed by wiping with ALLCOAT Degreaser Solution.
Application Procedure
Clean surface thoroughly, and ensure that no oil, grease and wax contaminants or silicon remains are present.
For many applications, primer is not required. In the case of application on very porous substrates, prime area/surfaces to avoid the possibility of air bubbles being blown into the uncured sealant if the substrate temperature rises. The recommended primer for must substrates is LV Primer.
NOTE: In some wet conditions adhesion to some substrates can become difficult, in this situation it is recommenmded to abrade the surface to provide a mechanical key. Once the area has been abraded it must be cleaned to remove any dust
particles / debris produced. When applying Allcoat Leak Stop it is important to overlap the repair area by at least 50mm to provide the perfect seal.
