ALLCOAT Basement Waterproof Wall & Floor Coating is a blend of Portland cement, quality graded aggregates and chemical modifiers which provide a waterproof cement based coating system for masonry and concrete. The special mix design produces excellent adhesion to construction surfaces and is safe to apply on damp substrates.
- Waterproofing membrane giving good bonding.
- Waterproofing system for basement floors below ground level.
- Waterproofing or tanking to walls either alone or as part of a multilayer system.
- Under tiled areas as a secondary protection for wet areas.
- Silage and sewage tanks.
All contact surfaces must be sound, clean, smooth with a trowelled or brushed finish. Any masonry should be flush pointed and defects in existing surfaces made good. Remove any laitence, dust, loose material or surface water.
No priming is necessary. To assist the membrane in fully wetting out the substrate the background may be dampened. There should not be any standing water.
ALLCOAT Waterproof Wall & Floor Coating is supplied in 25kg bags. The water requirement to produce the coating is 7.5 to 8.5 litres per 25kg of dry material. Pour the required quantity of water into a suitable mixing vessel. Slowly add the powder to the water whilst continuously mixing.
Mechanical mixing is recommended using a slow speed high torque drill with a mortar stirrer. Mixing should be continued for three minutes after all the powder has been added to the mixing water to obtain a “creamy” consistency.
ALLCOAT Waterproof Wall & Floor Coating is applied in two coats. Brush or spray apply the first coat in a horizontal direction down to the fillet level. After 24 hours seal fillet with ALLCOAT Aqua Plug leaving weep holes free.
Apply a second coat of ALLCOAT Waterproof Wall & Floor Coating in a vertical direction covering the fillet with the coating. Remove weep hole taps and seal with ALLCOAT Aqua Plug. If leaks occur, drill 12mm holes adjacent to the leak and seal with ALLCOAT Aqua Plug.
Stir well before use. The membrane may be applied by brush or roller. Care should be taken to ensure that the correct dry coat application thickness is achieved and that the drying time is not unacceptably extended. Typical coverage value, depending in substrate, is 2.5 kilos/m². This should be applied in a minimum of two coats, each of 1.25 kilos/m².
When applying two or more coats it is recommended that subsequent coats are applied at right angles to the previous coat. Before applying a second coat it is necessary to allow the first coat to become hard dry, typically 24 hours. If applying a subsequent screed to ALLCOAT Basement Waterproof Wall & Floor Coating, a third coat may be applied as a primer for the screed and applied wet on wet.
